Are you:

  • 18-30 years old with a disability or a learning disability?
  • Interested in sport and movement?
  • Ready to get into work, education, or training?
  • Able to travel independently or are working towards it?

If you are, come down and join our London Futures Programme!

Starting from the 16th of January 2023, Mondays, Term-Time from 5pm to 6:30pm

Address: Roland Philipps Scout Centre, 65 Copley Street, Stepney Green, London, E1 3DF

The sessions will involve:

  • Weekly employability and mentoring sessions using sport
  • Weekly personalised mentoring and employability support with coach mentors
  • One week work placement with one of our employers in the Spring / Summer 2023
  • Opportunities to attend fun activities within the local community, meeting new people and gaining new experiences

London Futures is delivered through three phases:

  1. Recruitment Phase:
    1. This phase takes place between September and January where we deliver taster sessions and recruit young Londoners for the programme start in January.
  2. Training for Work Phase:
    1. This phase runs between January – July where young Londoners attend weekly sport and employability sessions to develop their soft skills for the world of work through a range of activities. These include discussions, role plays and interactive employability activities. They will also have the opportunity to play sport, grow their confidence, and improve teamwork and decision-making skills.
    2. As part of the training phase, young Londoners also have access to weekly one to one personalised mentoring sessions with their Coach Mentor to support their ongoing career development.
  3. Transition Phase:
    1. We support young adults in preparing for a one-week work placement which takes place between June – August, although some young adults may have already transitioned into work. We support young adults on a case-by-case basis into their next transition whether that being employment, further education, or training.

London Futures is delivered by Coach Mentors with over 20 years of credible lived experience of having a disability themselves, and who have gone through the journey of achieving employment through the dedicated support of credible role models.

London Futures has an Inclusive Employers Network working closely with a range of employers from different industries to support them in their inclusive practices, as well as work with them in offering our young Londoners work experience, volunteering, and job opportunities to those who are suitable.

Our London Futures hubs are delivered at our HQ in Sutton, Tower Hamlets, and Bromley; however, we welcome referrals from the surrounding boroughs if young Londoners are able to attend our weekly sport and employability sessions.
